DVD Service
|
 |
How
much footage can you process onto a DVD? |
|
Up to two hours of high quality video can be
processed onto a DVD (compressed in MPEG-2 format).
|
 |
What
are the benefits of transferring my videotape onto a DVD?
|
|
|
Transferring your videotape onto DVD allows you
to preserve precious memories. Unlike videotape, which can degrade
significantly in as little as 10 years, a DVD will last hundreds of
years and will look just as good each time you view it.
Peterson Video
Production's process automatically detects scenes in your video and
creates chapters based on those scenes. Use the chapter menu to
easily select any scene and watch it instantly. No more
fast-forwarding through hours of footage to find those memorable
video moments!
|
 |
What
exactly comes with each DVD order? |
|
Each order includes:
- Packaging
customized with a convenient chapter index of your video.
- Personalized
chapter menu that allows you to easily select any scene and
watch it instantly.
- Customized DVD
disc with your video title, date and author information printed
on the label.
|
 |
What’s
the quality of the video on the DVD? |
|
Peterson Video Productions processes your video
in MPEG-2 format to ensure high video quality in transfer and
playback. However, the ultimate quality of the video on DVD depends
ultimately on the quality of the original video.
|
 |
How
many videotapes can I put on one DVD? |
|
Currently, Peterson Video Productions can
process up to two videotapes per DVD, up to two hours in total
length.
|
 |
What if
my tapes won’t fit on one DVD? |
|
|
Our automated processing cycle will only
transfer the first two hours of your video onto DVD.

CD Service
|
 |
Can
video footage be played from a CD? |
|
| Absolutely! The video
signal from a videotape (VHS, VHS-C, S-VHS, 8mm, Hi-8, mini DV,
Digital 8) can be processed onto a CD in a format that can be read
and played back by your PC. Once your video is preserved on CD, you
can pop it into the CD drive in your PC and watch it just like you
would on a TV. Also, transferring your video onto a digital medium
like CD means that you'll have the ability to do more with it (such
as editing and e-mailing and printing still photos). |
 |
What are the benefits of transferring
my videotape onto a CD? |
|
| Videotape doesn’t age
well. In only 10-15 years, the degradation process has begun and
before long, there will be serious degradation to the image quality
of your video. When you have your videotape processed and
transferred onto a CD (a much more stable medium than videotape),
you can expect to preserve its quality for many, many years. Also,
because your video is written in a digital format on a CD, you can
share your favorite moments by editing your movie to clips that can
be sent to others, and by capturing still images to be printed or
emailed. |
 |
What’s
the quality of the video on the CD? |
|
| When Peterson Video
Productions processes your videotape, we digitize and transfer it
onto a CD in a computer video format known as MPEG-1, one of the
most reliable and widely used video formats in the computer
industry. The overall video quality on the CD has a resolution of
352 x 240 and is comparable to the quality of your original
videotape. More importantly though, the video on your CD will
maintain its quality for a lifetime (unlike your original videotape)
and will include additional tools that will let you enjoy your video
even more. |
 |
How
many videotapes can I put on one CD? |
|
| A CD will hold up to two
hours of video compressed in MPEG-1 format. |
 |
What if
my tapes won’t fit on one CD? |
|
| Peterson Video
Production's automated processing cycle will only transfer the first
two hours of your video (onto 2 CDs). |
